Jared Isaacman Sworn In as NASA Administrator

Jared Isaacman was officially sworn in as the 15th Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration on December 18th, 2025, following his confirmation by the U.S. Senate. The ceremony took place at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, with U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly administering the oath.
The Senate voted 67-30 to confirm Isaacman on December 17, 2025, after a renomination by President Trump in November. This came after a previous nomination was withdrawn earlier in the year. The confirmation process included a second Senate Commerce Committee hearing on December 3rd, where senators questioned Isaacman on NASA's priorities, including the Artemis program, commercial partnerships and agency budget challenges.
Isaacman, founder of Shift4 Payments and commander of two private SpaceX missions, brings unique experience as a civilian astronaut. His flights include Inspiration4, the first all-civilian orbital mission, and Polaris Dawn, featuring the first commercial spacewalk. Isaacman has emphasized support for multiple commercial providers while advancing human exploration goals.
In his statement upon swearing-in, Isaacman expressed honor in leading NASA, pledging to restore a mission-first culture focused on returning astronauts to the Moon, establishing a lunar presence, and preparing for Mars missions under President Trump's vision.
